Cool Hand Luc's New Fall Menu

Earlier this year in January, I posted my first Cool Hand Luc (Twitter: @CoolHandLucTO, Facebook: Cool Hand Luc) post - More Than Just Ice Cream at Cool Hand Luc - where I had the opportunity to try their fresh soups, chili, and delicious grilled cheese sandwiches (all part of their winter menu at the time). Fast forward nine months later to, well, this past Tuesday, and I found myself back at Cool Hand Luc again for their new fall menu *Thanks Luc* but geez, how time flies!

With a new chef on board, Cool Hand Luc's fall menu consists of several new additions such as salads, fresh rolls and signature grilled sandwiches.

My friend Audrey, from Tasty Tours (@tasty_tours) and I tried the following:

Fresh Rolls: Cucumber, yellow zucchini, carrot, red pepper, basil and green onion with a choice of vegetarian, roasted orange chicken or soya beef

Soups: Potato & Leek, Butternut Squash

Grilled Veg Sandwich: Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, roasted red pepper with mango ketchup

Luc's Chicken Club: Roasted orange chicken breast, avocado, tomato, bacon, cheddar with herb mayo dip

We couldn't possibly leave Cool Hand Luc without having ice cream :) I had the "Roly Poly" and Audrey had the "Bear Claw".

Out of the three kinds of fresh rolls, the soya beef roll stood out the most for me (I thought it packed the most flavour & crunch). I liked both grilled sandwiches equally: the grilled veg sandwich was light and moist, an excellent healthy option, while Luc's chicken club had all the fixin's of a tasty sandwich (i.e. chicken, avocado, bacon, melted cheddar). I personally prefer lighter soups, such as chicken noodle (which is also on the menu), so I let Audrey, who likes thicker soups, finish both the potato leek and butternut squash, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Similar to my visit in Janaury, I still think the best value on Cool Hand Luc's menu are their combos. I'm thinking of popping in again to try their Hawaiian grilled sandwich (with roasted red peppers, ham, grilled pineapple, jalapeno cheddar) with a bowl of chili (yes, chili is an exception to my thick soup rule LOL!)
