Five days left for Summerlicious folks! Have you taken advantage of the amazing prix-fixe deals yet? If your answer is "no" then well, good news is there's still time - Summerlicious ends this Sunday, July 21 so get on it! Make some resos! If your answer is "yes" then...um...make more resos? ;) Yesterday night, my friend Audrey and I made our way to Bymark (@BymarkDowntown) for their $45 Summerlicious dinner prix-fixe (they are also offering a $25 lunch.) Below is the rundown on our meal:

Pineapple, jalapeno, yuzu mayo, black garlic

Ricotta Gnudi Salad
Arugula, shaved parmesan & brown butter

MAIN
Pan Seared Scallops Tamarind Glazed

DESSERT
Chocolate Tart
Pistachio caramel corn, caramel banana ice cream

Strawberry Rocky Road
Lemon curd, toasted marshmallow, strawberry mousse

With a nice mix of seafood and meat options, Audrey and I had a great Summerlicious dinner at Bymark. I really enjoyed my light and pillow-y ricotta gnudi salad; the slightly sweet brown butter dressing complemented the arugula to a tee. The scallop main was delicious too...the tamarind! It was absolutely delightful - it gave the entire plate a lovely hint of Asian and Latin American flair. As for the beef filet, it was soft and tender cooked to a nice rare (just a heads up the filet came out rare - I wasn't asked how I would like it done.) Both desserts were tasty but the chocolate tart was the clear winner for me. Rich, dense chocolate with a side of pistachio caramel popcorn and caramel banana ice cream? YESSS! With a variety of flavours and textures, the chocolate tart was definitely the more unique dessert out of the two.
